What are the drug policies for the LCS?

I want to compete (eventually) but I am prescribed adderall for ADHD and do not want myself or the team to be fined in the event that legal use of it is against the rules (Not abusing said medicine to compete). I also do not want to have my prescribed medication become a factor in my potential when (or if) a team wants to examine me as a prospect. Checked the LCS Official Rules but could not find anything related to the matter. Thank you.

PS: I must take something for my ADHD as without it I am functional but cannot focus on any specific thought for too long, follow a diverse train of thought or even really decide what it is I think about. With enough focus I am able to but it hindered my school and social life so after being diagnosed by a trained psychiatrist and psychologist I started to take the prescribed medicine. If it allows insight I missed around 100 days of high school and finished with a 1.6 gpa though I had all A's, I had a bunch of 0's as well from missed assignments. Also, to address the question before it comes up, I definitely would not be able to just go without it on game days as this compounds my ADHD (in the theoretical sense that I am on a team and competing).

Edit: To add to this, I have been taking adderall for a long enough time to build up a tolerance so I don't receive the motivation, energy, extreme focus, or euphoria that one would receive if abusing the medication. To lower my tolerance I would have to abstain from it for atleast 3 days, which while possible is an extreme hindrance to a professional schedule (even to my current practice schedule). In the situation I abstained from my medication to lower my tolerance and receive the starting effects I would be relatively useless in regards to energy, mental capacity, reaction times etc. In other words, I wouldn't be able to practice at the needed level, let alone remember plays, specifics etc.

Don't let these guys get you down. I'm sure the regulations won't limit you from taking your medication.

Diamond III is the minimum requirement for the challenger series. You can do this.

I don't mean this to be rude, but currently sitting at s5 after atleast 3 seasons of play, I'm not sure playing in the lcs is that obtainable of a feat. Very few players get that opportunity.

Currently, there are no Riot regulations against using Adderall or other legal drugs. That could change in the future, but it's fine as of now.

This sounds like a troll post lol.

If not I really doubt the LCS will take someone who can't focus for more than a couple of minutes before needing meds. You have too much baggage for them to sign you to a team sorry ;[.

Also lets worry about Silver first friend than after Silver-Gold-Plat-Diamond-Master-Challenger(year or two) than you can start thinking about joining the LCS.

Ok....as a fellow ADHD player I'll tell you some pointers (I don't take meds out of personal choice so I fixed my life to work with my problem. I finished my highschool and my college with moderate to high grades which is kinda funny because it was black or white either A or F (D) GPA was 3.2 on college after 4 years)

  • If you are really thinking on going pro first you have to consider is your age, is an E-Sport but biologically your reflexes peak at 16 or so so if you are reaching quite far from that is going to be hard. A good deal of normal pros retire at 26 so you around 10 years where is more probable to make a living out of it.
  • You would have to practice 18h at day, players at LCS practice that everyday so is a full time job. People like us with ADHD have problems focusing for that long so more than the dopping I believe that kind of commitment is going to be your biggest problem.
  • Currently there are no rules for dopping on profesional play, that could change thou. There are no rules mainly because there are no precedents of players needing this meds.

And btw Aderrall is probably the worse in my opinion. It made my Insomnia ten times worse which would make me relies on the meds hype to get me though the days.... Once I spent 3 whole nights withous sleeping..... and usually I woudl only get 1-2h of sleep at night so make sure to check with your doctor regularly.
