How has skill level of pro players developed over time?

Let's say a pro level league team from today magically found a one time time machine that transported them back five years. Instead of using their knowledge of the stock market to make money, they decide to play in the 2010 WCG finals (all champions and item stats are from 2010). How would the skill levels of these players compare to the 2010 teams?

I would think that the players from the future would lose, just because it's a very different game from what it used to be. If we were talking about a static game (like the older SSB games, for example), I would say that skill level has developed, but when somebody has to go to playing champions that they haven't played in a while in a way that hasn't been played in years, there will be a big relearning curve.

Give them a one or two month bootcamp and I think they will win.

Assuming that the people going back in time had time to prepare a 2010 champ pool, they would be taking the understanding of lane swaps, rotations, and power spikes.

Its not that players are getting more skilled, Players have learned a deeper understand of the game. Imagine if CLG went back and did lane swaps in 2010 worlds out of the blue, no one would be able to grasp what is happening. They could even slowly evolve the lane swamp of the time of the tournament. Lane swaps have been evolving over the last 2 years and look completely different from when they started.
