How to select a ban (Title)

Could you give me some pointers on what to ban for certain comps or win conditions. When I'm playing mid I play Annie and I got screwed over by a lux twice because I couldn't get to her. But I banned her but realized that was a issue with me not handling her well. I would rather ban brand but I can somewhat deal with a good brand so I don't despite the chaos he can cause in team fights. In the match I'm writing this while loading i was thinking of banning irelia because she can get hyper and I can't deal with her if she gets tanky and the team wont focus. I decided against it because I was using Poppy which deals with her dashes pretty well. Any other things I can look out for or thoughts?

Could someone explain the part of the guidelines I'm violating?

My personal thinking is that this one is a bit vague. The core idea of getting input for picks/bans and in-lane play recommendations is great, but there's just not really the foundation we'd want.

A better thread might provide some more meaningful examples, such as "I tend to play XYZ style of characters, including A, B, and C, and I find myself unsure what to pick into lane bullies, what to ban when playing these champions, and how to control the lane when behind. I'd love some tips about dealing with these situations, both on these specific champions and in general." That allows the scope to go beyond your PERSONAL problem and into a larger discussion of laning, picking, and banning strategy, which is important for Gameplay+.

Meanwhile, your submission was pretty much summarized by "Could you give me some pointers on what to ban for certain comps or win conditions," which is so ambiguous as to be a non-starter.

I'd also suggest that banning in and of itself may not be a detailed enough topic when you're not working with a full team, because you can't really coordinate your bans and most of the time a solo ban is best used against whatever you think is popular or a strong counter to you -- in most MMRs it really doesn't matter too much what you ban. That severely limits the strategic depth of the conversation, and makes it much more appropriate to Gameplay than Gameplay+.
