I wonder...

This is just me wondering. Don't pay me much mind, but I think it deserves saying.

I think that the League community needs to be less salty and toxic. I've seen tons of people being salty in ranked, norms, and even bots. Seriously though; BOTS. Please don't flame me for picking up a new champ and accidentally ks'ing when you already have 15+ kills. It is only bots after all. Please don't say you'll report me for inting when I'm only 3 kills down in lane; I'm not inting, I haven't hit my power spike yet. Please don't tell me that I have no clue how this game works if both your KDA and your farm are worse than mine, barring support players; you aren't in a position to talk. Please don't tell me that bronze players like me are all trash; I got terrible promos, otherwise I'd be in silver. Or maybe high bronze, which I'd be in silver now due to the climbing I've done this season. Please don't int when I play support and clear the minion wave while you're dead; you couldn't be getting it anyways, and I'm actually doing our team a favor by not letting it go to waste by turret death. Please don't flame me for mistakenly diving when I'm playing an aggressive champ and our team is behind me; I'm supposed to dive so you can all follow up. Please don't blame me when you can't hold your own and I'm playing jungle; I've been helping you this game, and I can't be your babysitter. It's more helpful for me to get our adc fed and you farm safe than me try to catch you back up if you're going to lose that lead anyways. Don't blame me for being an aggressive support if I'm playing an aggressive champ and you are too; it's what we're supposed to be doing in lane. Don't yell at me for shoving lane so you can't gank it; I need the farm, and they can't deal with my harass, so I'm keeping my lane pushed to keep farming so their farm gets wasted by turrets while I keep river warded for potential ganks. Don't blame me for dying during teamfights if we would've won if you'd been there instead of hallway across the map, split pushing for no reason while we contest drag. Don't flame me for playing Kled, or Swain, etc. I know what I'm doing, and if I don't, I'll be playing safe. Don't flame me for not being the absolute best support you've ever had; I'm a top main.

In turn, I won't flame you when you ks me in bots. It's just BOTS. I won't report you for inting if all that's happening is you're having a bad game. I won't tell you how good you are at the game; I've only played one game with you, I have no clue who you are or how good you are at League. I won't blame you for being bronze; most LoL players ARE bronzes, as am I. I wouldn't int for the world, and I still wouldn't if you intentionally stole my CS, even two waves in a row. I won't get mad if the jungler is constantly elsewhere and not camping my lane; why should I be mad? Chances are that I either have a good advantage, can go even, or it's simply smarter to go camp bot so they get fed and can win it for us late game. Plus, I don't need a babysitter; I'm competent enough to hold my own. But, if I ask for your help nicely, please come help me at least once, or give it a try. Who knows what'll happen? Maybe I could snowball off it. But don't feel obligated to come back if it fails badly; I won't blame you. I would never yell at someone for shoving lane; currently, I'm a Swain main, and it's my job to harass/shove lane so my opponent gets underfed and not enough farm. I understand why people shove lane. I wouldn't blame my team for contesting drag while I'm not there; I'd do the same if it were a large impact on the game. I wouldn't blame people for dying during teamfights that we would've won if I was there; I should've been there, and I'll actively try to be there next time. I won't flame you for picking a new champ; I'll ask you nicely not to play Yasuo support, but in the end, I won't flame you for it, even if you lose us the game. After all, it's probably just norms, and LoL is still just a game. I wouldn't flame you for even being a terrible support; I'll give you pointers if I can, but there's no reason to get all annoyed by it. Everyone gets autofilled sometimes, and if I'm playing adc I can almost guarantee you I got autofilled too. I don't expect there to always be a support main in every game.

At the moment, I'd say I'm doing a fair job of keeping up my end of this agreement. I know it's impossible for the entire community to change, but I hope that people will one day realize that this game called League of Legends is just that: a game. There's no need to get super upset over a couple of losses; don't you see what the pros are doing? They're professionals, and after each game they're not salty, toxic, or passive-aggressive. They shake hands with their opponents, win or lose, because even the professionals understand that even at the highest tier of play, this is still just a game. They even cheer each other on sometimes after they've already been disqualified themselves; that's called sportsmanship.

The other problem I'm noticing is that a good portion of the Community board is just angry noise. Why bother posting on the Community Board when you're being the example of what the community shouldn't act like? It's kind of annoying for the rest of us who understand that this is still just a game, and that the players on the other keyboards are still people, and that in the end win or lose doesn't matter because what's more important is that we got a half hour or so to bond with people who have some similar interests as us, and some new ones we might like to try out. So please, don't go posting rants about how "Bronzies are stupid" and then proceed to use no hard evidence whatsoever and only appeal to rage. We don't need that, and I know a lot of us don't want that noise. I'd rather see the community boards heavily moderated to remove your rants because they don't help the rest of us. If there's a serious problem that needs addressing, talk about it; I'd encourage that. But please be better than the people who are causing the problem when you explain what the problem is, and at least try to think up reasonable solutions to the problem when you're done explaining it. Don't blame noobs for being noobs and then not tell them how to improve; they're new to the game, like you were however long ago you joined.

But like I said, this is all just thinking. Probably wishful thinking at that. I just thought maybe if I said something, it could make this community a better place. But who knows; the world doesn't work the way we all think it does. I might inspire a wave of trolls to post really inflammatory comments on this page by saying that bronzies really aren't what's wrong with league. Who knows. Those trolls would probably be bronze or unranked anyways, so I don't think I'd be bugged so much. Thanks for reading/listening to the thoughts of a weird geek like myself; hopefully I've impacted at least one person in a positive way.
