I have a Question regarding Discussion Topics and their Weight.

Well, I was thinking, well, admittedly I wasn't but I got my thoughts Riled and geared from a question someone else posed and wanted to ask How important is the Topic in itself when it comes to a Post and how it is received, regarding the Board's Moderation that is.

Incase people do not understand this, I will give one practical example:

Let's say I try to make a Discussion about an Educational, very professional Topic with Links and Censored Images to all evidence about every word said it in. BUT The post itself mainly resolves around something meant for more mature discussions like reproduction, or something a little more private like how to properly hook up. Would the topic in itself be a big enough point to cause the threads to be closed? Or is the expression and content the big factor of judgement?

In other words, Which one of the points weights the most when deciding to allow or close a post? The topic itself, what was said about this topic or how it was said? I don't have that big of an Idea of how a Post is weighted and judged as violating the prohibations and I would like to gain some more insight into it.

Both the expression and the content may be classified as prohibited. Mature content, regardless the purpose, is not really appropriate here. There is some discretion given to the moderation team on deciding what is appropriate. That being said, why would you want to start a discussion about reproduction in a message board for a game? I know it is probably a contrived example, but the sentiment stands for all topics that have no relation to the game whatsoever.

How important is the Topic in itself when it comes to a Post and how it is received, regarding the Board's Moderation that is.

A great many factors are considered when making moderation decisions:

  • The subject itself.
  • How the subject is presented, including tone.
  • The subject's relevance to League.
  • The Board it's posted on.
  • The direction the author is heading/intending with their post.
  • The likely response by the community and the probability of healthy, productive outcomes.
  • Whether or not the post sets off any of the warning flags (phishing, calling for the firing of Rioters, etc.)

We really couldn't give you a hierarchy of considerations, because there isn't one.
