@Riot How do Doards Responses Work?

I'm genuinely curious as to how Rioters determine what posts to respond to. Sometimes I see you guys post on random Player Behaviour posts that clearly aren't worth your time, and sometimes I see Rioters responding and having insightful discussions on very important subjects.

How do you guys respond to these things? Is it just through looking at posts whenever you're on and responding when you feel like it? Or is there something else going on?

First of all, dpeending on what stuff a Rioter is working on, they usually only reply to to threads related to their work (e.g. someone from live gameplay tends to only response to gameplay related threads, art designers usually only reply to threads in Story, Art&Sound and so on.

Then there's the time matter. Especially if a thread is pretty large, has a very high quality and brings a constructive discussion to the table, the answer(s) required from riot tend to be longer than usual - but Rioters don't have the time to respond in that extend.

Sometimes they do respond to something but in that case I have experienced them to rectify stuff in the first place or defend their own design decisions.

Well, first of all, there isn't a policy. They aren't required by their jobs to be on the Boards at all.

The ones that are come because they see the value in communicating with us here. Basically, they respond when they feel that they feel they can meaningfully contribute to the discussion.

The more positively that discussion is framed, the better. When it's clear that the community is just complaining and won't be reasoned with on a subject, they'll probably not go there. I see them most often on high-effort, well reasoned posts. If you put a lot of work into something and it's clear that you are passionate and capable of having a respectful discussion (even if you're critiquing something), they're more likely to show up.
