Anyone else here been unfairly banned?

So I recently just had my second account perma banned and made me think, who else was banned unfairly here? Both of my accounts were banned due to other people reporting me for seemingly no reason. Whether it be just a bad game and they think I am inting or due to something else. I understand the idea behind banning people for typing toxic things, but has some of these people never been on the internet?

If you can't handle being called something from someone in a video game, you should stay off the internet. The internet is always going to have toxic people and people are always going to tell each other to go KTS, its just how it is. Instead of taking everything anyone says to you to heart, people need to learn to just ignore it. Banning people for things such as "inting" based on what other people have said about you or being banned due to someone didn't like what you said to them is just absurd.

{quoted} If you can't handle being called something from someone in a video game, you should stay off the internet.

This "argument" works both ways. If you can't stop being a dick you should stay off the internet.

You say you're unfairly banned and then go and list the reasons Riot was justified in banning you. Well done?

If you don't want to get "unfairly" banned, don't break the rules I bet all of your bans have been justified, but you just can't see/understand it

If you don't want to respect other players and respect the rules you agreed to, maybe you should get off the internet and league

To be honest the whole argument of "It's the internet" is a shit argument to try to excuse being an asshole. The main difference between the internet and real life is the extra anonymity that the internet can offer. The internet is what we decide to make it; and I think people have decided they want more guidelines/social norms in place.

Internet is composed or various businesses and users; and each one has authority over the domain they control. If I host a server on a game, I am absolutely allowed to control what is allowed on that server. If I decide that flipping a coin with it landing on its side means you have to leave, then I can make you leave. If I decide that I don't want people joking about rape and somebody jokes about it, I can make them leave.

"It is the Internet" is becoming less of a valid argument to be an ass. More and more places seem to be taking the route of "if you wouldn't do/say it to a stranger in front of a crowd; don't do it". The argument of "but this is a (competitive) game" is also not the greatest argument. It is one, but you can consider that there is always an official/ref to review the post game. Excessive unsportmanlike conduct will be penalized.

From Riot's support knowledgebase:

It only takes one report for our systems to review a game.

Your opinion of the rules is of zero relevance. When a cop stops you for going 40 in a 25 zone, you can claim "I think the limit should be 45 here" all you want. You're still getting a ticket. If a librarian asks you to keep your voice down while you use the facilities, shouting that libraries should be loud will simply get you escorted out. If you go to a friend's house who insists that you remove your shoes while you're in their home, "that's a stupid rule and I do what I want" will lose you a friend. If you are using someone else's services, facilities, equipment, etc., you abide by their rules or you deal with the consequences. If you think the rules should change, that is a completely different conversation (and I wouldn't give a plugged nickel for your chances at convincing Riot to change their rules to allow behavior like yours).

From Riot's support knowledgebase:

We work with the overall community and within our own company guidelines to identify what disruptive behavior is and what the consequences for those behaviors should be. We understand that it can be difficult to know where the line is, which is why we provide chat logs and we have a few tiers in the ban process in order to allow for you to learn and grow.

You keep being punished because you keep breaking the rules without understanding this concept.

To quote Chermorg:

It being the internet doesn’t change the fact this is a game people play to enjoy, not to be flamed for every little tiny mistake.

Times are changing, and anonymity is becoming less and less of an excuse/shield for players to behave like jerks without fear of accountability. If they can't behave in a mature manner in an online video game then they're in for a rude awakening if they act like that offline. From Riot Tantram:

People might be used to feeling powerful behind a computer monitor where people don't know who they are, but that's not how we look at things.

if you were playing a game of basketball, and told someone to go kill themselves because you were frustrated about losing, you'd be penalized. Would you be punched in the face for telling someone at the bar to go kill themselves? Probably.

It's not 'PC'. It doesn't take 'testicles' to hide behind a monitor and tell someone to kill themselves or call them a racial slur. In fact, I'd say it's quite the opposite.

There's also the issue of time. People play games to have fun and most people don't enjoy it when there's a person who's more interested in ruining the experience of everyone else involved simply because they're mad or whatever. Too many bad experiences can drive customers and players away, so it's actually in Riots best interest to remove those who are more interested in harassing others and being unsportsmanlike than they are in actually playing the game itself and being sportsmanlike.

Simply put if you feel Riot doesn't care simply because they won't let you verbally abuse and harass others and get away with it then you need a reality check as more and more game companies and communities are following Riot's example.
