the only question and concern i have is. why every time a room full of people decide to gang up on me, i get penalized and the majority of you always deem it acceptable that they ganged up on me and that i deserved to be ganged up on and penalized. and in the same sentence say you do not support bullying

im going to say it like this. if we used the system that supports bullying in the real world. ( that system is riots penalize system). here is how it would play out.

a bank robber goes in and robs a bank. even though the tellers are minding there own business and doing there everyday job, they get thrown in jail because they did not stop the robber from taking the money because they wanted to defend there selves. so here the tellers are sitting in jail when all they were doing was working and trying to do what they were suppose to do. all because ONE person wanted to instigate things and rob the bank. sooo this is exactly how the system works. meaning it does indeed lean towards the favor of people who start random crap for nothing. if you want a system that is right. then you need to make it to where in penalizes the ONE person who instigated thing to begin with. otherwise it does indeed support bullying to some degree and you can't deny it.

They dont get thrown in jail for not stopping the robber.. where did u hear this...

Also irl, you can't do /mute and make it all go away. In league you can ! :D

The reason it works this way is that, unlike in the real-world violence scenarios you discuss later in this thread, you cannot defend yourself with a counterattack. You can defend yourself using reasonable, rule-abiding behavior (or the mute button), or you can go on a counteroffensive with verbal abuse aimed back at your abusers. You are, at no point, in actual danger that you need to fight off.

A closer parallel would be to imagine yourself in a movie theater, where someone starts yelling curses at you. If you call management or ignore them, they'll be kicked out. If you stand up, get in their face, and start yelling back at them, you're going to both get removed for causing a disturbance. This is the League equivalent: you are not in any actual danger, and you had an option to ignore the problem completely. When you choose to engage in a similar manner to the person instigating, you are simply becoming a second problem yourself. Mute them, ignore them, or attempt to diffuse the situation in a non-aggressive manner.
