[Taric Rework]

My ideas for a rework on Taric, since he is currently overshadowed by a dozen supports that do his jobs much better.

Passive: After using an ability Tarics next basic attack deals bonus magic damage over time based on Tarics Armor and Magic Resist.

Q: Taric shields an ally with his gems. The target ally champion receives a moderate shield for a few seconds. After the time is up any remaining shield is doubled and converted into health.

W: Taric smashes the ground with his hammer crushing the land in a long line in front of him. This causes a wall of land and gems to spike out of the ground creating an unpassable wall from his cast point to the end of the casting range. All enemies caught in the wall DURING activation take damage based on Tarics Armor, are knocked back to one side of the wall (the side they were closer to) and stunned for a short time. The wall fades after a few seconds.

E: Taric shoots a beam of light from his gems. Target enemy champion is slowed for a short duration takes damage based on Tarics Magic Resist and has all damage done to them amplified by a small percentage for a short time.

R: Taric changes the color of his gems to alternate his defense. Taric also gains a very small speed boost for a very short duration upon being toggled. This skill is available at level 1. When toggled ON Taric swaps 80% of his Armor and Magic Resist with each other. (Example: If Taric has default 300 Armor and 100 Magic Resist. Toggling this ability will take 80% of each, 240 Armor and 80 Magic Resist and swap them. His defenses will then be 140 Armor (300 - 240 + 80) and 260 Magic Resist (100 - 80 + 240).

I dunno, Taric is a pretty good support VS heavy AD teams, as his W passive and ult is 1000's of golds in stats he provides for his team. Besides, how am I supposed to troll renekton and riven players by beating them dazzled with Topric?

So....

Ranged AOE stun displace barrier basic skill you say.

Shield that doubles itself and becomes a heal-perfect for topping an ally off after shutting down interactions in lane!

A level one ultimate that makes it so I only ever have to build one stat, neato. It also would eventually just permanently cause a 50/50 split of magic resist and armor? Sweet, I love math.

And to top it all off some sweet sweet targeted unavoidable harass goodness.

Taric already has an unavoidable stun, this is essentially just making it a slow.

The ranged AoE stun you are speaking of? I thought writing would lead to misunderstanding so I'll clarify. Its a thin wall, imagine an Ezreal Q. A thin wall that is created in a line. Yes it can be a stun but being a very narrow skill shot it would mostly be used for separating a target from your ADC IF placed correctly. If not it may just lock the target closer to your ADC.

And I assume you also misunderstood the ultimate. It doesnt trade 80% every time you click it eventually splitting it 50/50. Its default OFF meaning your defenses are normal. Then you can toggle it on to trade 80%, if clicked again it toggles off reverting your defenses to normal. Essentially it allows Taric to alternate from Armor focus to Magic Resist focus though the trade is not 100% so he will never have insane amounts of the protection he is not building unless he stacked unnecessary amounts of one. While it does sound too perfect to be able to switch between Armor tank and MR tank, it still requires smart timing since in any good team fight there will be AD targets and AP targets. And the skill will come with a short cooldown so it cannot be toggled endlessly.

I personally think it would make for a great kit for him. Allowing him to still have his targeted harass but change it to a slow on the same cooldown. Give him a wall/stun on a 20+ second cooldown to start since walls can be very OP at times. And make his heal more interesting by starting it as a shield. The way I imagined it the shield would be miniscule or possibly scale with AP so that he can't build large shields as well as tons of defenses. It would be something like a small 50 damage shield at level 1 which if left active for 4-5 seconds becomes a 100 (pretty strong) heal. Of course if your opponent attacks the shield and after the time is up there is only 6 damage left on the shield, it will only heal for 12.

It is not as OP as you think, having a small shield is great for small trades but it can be takes down quickly within the trade negating the heal. Using the skill in the middle of a fight would be near pointless since it would never reach the heal time. So its about how you use the skill, as a shield to engage or a heal to sustain your ADC.

At the moment Taric has 1 good stun, and 1 bad heal skill. The rest of his kit is trash in comparison to the current meta supports. Why would I ever use a support with 1 good stun, 1 bad heal, low mana sustain and high AD protection when I can get all of that and more? Leona has several stuns, plenty high defenses, and she may lack a heal but she has an Amumu grab that can ignore minions and directly hit champions behind them. Braum has naturally high defenses, even better than Tarics with his shield up, a gap closer to a teammate, an enormous AoE knock-up and slow. And a low cooldown slow/stun. Morgana has a super long snare, a decent damage over time skill, a shield that makes the target immune to all CC and blocks magic damage. And a ranged targeted stun/slow. Do I even need to get into Lulu? shield, speed buffs, high damage output herself, a knock-up that makes the target tanky for limited time. And a skill that auto target turns the person into a 100% useless squirrel thing?
