Braum/Thresh interaction

This is actually not what I think people will expect as a question, but it's something i've been curious about for awhile.

Yasuo's wind wall is a relatively simple projectile-destruction wall. Direction isn't factored, and, importantly, neither is intent - Yasuos wall will destroy all projectiles, including Thresh's Lantern if he tries to throw it through the wall.

Now, for Braum's E, There are similar mechanics involved, however it was stated in the Q&A (Which I was away during the day so couldn't ask this then) that the shield has been modified to REDIRECT projectiles to strike and damage Braum, and then be destroyed. Anything behind the shield that isn't Braum remains safe, however the EFFECT of a projectile, AOES, stuns etc, are still applied to Braum and the area ahead of him.

SO what happens in you try and throw a lantern through Braum's shield from the front? Is it destroyed? Is it forced to simply fall short in front of Braum? I know things like Thresh's hook still grab braun when it hits the shield, it just negates damage, but what about the lantern? given that it doesn't deal damage anyway, could it still be used to set off Braum's initial 100% reduction for the first projectile?
