Waiting for other players

I queued up for a ranked game found a match, hit accept and it was stuck on waiting on other players, ended up having to force close and for some reason it cost me a loss in my promos. When I logged in i also couldn't see my friends list for about 5 minutes. I had full connection to internet, I was watching a twitch stream the entire time. If the loss cant be removed that's ok, little annoying though but I just really want to know if its safe to queue up again, I don't wanna risk losing my promos because the client is messing up on me.
