Inability to lock in a champion; kicked from lobby as a result

I just wanted to let you guys know that I just lost 10 lp and got a 30 minute que ban because I couldn't lock in my champion during champion select. When ever I tried to press "Lock In," the client made the sound effect as if it had locked in my champion; however, the client wouldn't lock in the champion. I was unable to switch champions and I couldn't lock in any other champion. Not asking for my LP back or anything but I would appreciate it if this didn't happen in the future.
