Very Old Item Shop Bug

It is very common for the search bar to reset itself after the player enters text. For example, you want to see Luden's Echo. You type "Lud" and the shop pulls up the item preview. You move mouse to click the item, and the search text resets to blank. So you have to re-click the search field, re-enter "Lud," and try again.

This sounds like a minor annoyance, but it has been happening since I started playing this game 2.5 years ago. I play a non-meta laner with a non-meta build, so I have to use the search function on virtually every recall. For that reason, I encounter this bug almost every game, usually multiple times per game, and occasionally multiple times in a row on one recall.
