Hi,
Here are some possible solutions to this problem:
- Run the game in "Windowed" mode. "Borderless" mode seems to be the direct cause of this problem.
Note: Remember to fix your game resolution if you play in windowed mode, the game will be shifted up/down depending on where your taskbar is. The location of your cursor will be shifted with the game window respectively.
The game blacking out and freezing when alt-tabbing back and forth is actually just a feature. It does that whenever you alt-tab when the game is in fullscreen mode. Windowed/Borderless mode fixes this particular freezing issue.
Alternatively, you could also reconnect your second monitor every time you're in the loading screen if those two solutions don't work for you.
For your future reference, if you encounter this issue in games or programs that allow you to move your mouse off screen:
- Windows 7 or older: Right-click the program's icon, select "move" (select "maximize" to see if that also works first). Then move the program window using either the arrow keys. For some applications, using your mouse to move the program window will snap the mouse back. If the program doesn't do that, you can also move the window using your mouse. Clicking anywhere will exit you out of "move" mode.
- Windows 8/10:
a. Shift + right-click the program icon to see the "move"/"maximize" option, then follow the steps like Windows 7 or older.
b. With the program window opens, press Alt + Space to bring up those options.
- Try the Task Manager method mentioned above.
This method doesn't work for games like League because it will automatically snap you back into the game.
Good luck, I hope this helps.
