Kled can't use honey fruit
So, don't know if intentional or not, but Kled (while on foot/ not on Skarl) does not gain HP from honey fruit.

When he is on foot, his hp has a limit to how much health he can get. Kled has 2 health bars, Kled has one and skarl has one. What happened is your Kled health bar was full so you can't gain more hp
