Patch 7.9 Just Keeps Getting Better (Can't Control Camera)

File this one under "the new game client is clearly broken."

Loaded into a game today. I'm on a MacBook Pro, so the windowing problem happened. This has been fixable simply by switching into and then out of windowed mode, so I did that. And I thought I was good. And I was, except for one minor detail, I couldn't move the camera. Nothing I tried worked.

Now as someone who doesn't play on lock screen, this was a real bother, but I figured I could just play on lock screen for this one game and figure it out later.

Except I couldn't lock the screen.

So my only choice was to restart my client, which is typically a fairly simple procedure. Only out of game for a minute tops normally. Not this time. Client just crashed every time, which is not a problem I've had since the most recent patch (though I know others have). When I finally got back in, it was too late. Also I was undoubtedly reported for leaving the game.

Now I know Riot's engineers are working really hard, but there is definitely something VERY broken about this patch, to the point where it can possibly interfere with basic game systems. It's especially bad on Mac apparently, but it seems to have problems on Windows too.

Idk if Riot does internal testing on every-day machines (I feel like they probably do but who knows), but if they don't I feel like it's time to pick up a few laptops and try things out there before dumping it on us.
