Windows Update FPS lag/crash

I recently updated Windows 10 this past week and I tried to play League a day later. To my surprise, I crashed during the loading screen (not a bug splat error, rather my computer froze). I was in a skype call so when I restarted my computer I only left League open. This time I didn't crash but now I had major FPS tearing. It was capped at 60 FPS yet it seemed like I was getting 10 frames a second due the tearing. My sound also seemed to be fuzzy and lagging. I tested this again yesterday after reinstalling League but this time I used Discord instead of Skype. When I got onto the rift my l still experience bad FPS tearing and after 6 or so minutes I froze again. I have never experienced this with my computer (it's only a year old) and it seemed to happen only after this recent Windows 10 update. Anyone have the same problem?
