Client crash - Spectate a gome on MAC OS

ok, so since the new patch every time I try to spectate a game i get the black screen like i'm going to load the champs. it stays black and then it quits and gives me the "league of legends has quit unexpectedly", and in the client itself it says i have left a game in progress would you like to reconnect/quit. i have tried reconnect and the same cycle happens again. if i quit, the client is as if nothing happened
