New patch, new bugs [CLIENT]

Since downloading patch 6.9, I have encountered frequent, problematic bugs in the lobby.

Play > PVP > Classic > Summoner's Rift > Blind Pick > Party = always yields a "there was an error processing a message from the server" message.

Some of my friends are not showing up in my friends list. And, oftentimes, when they do it has them in the wrong area (in game, in champ select, or whatever, which is wrong most of the time).

Got into a lobby (finally) and then I got disconnected somehow. My comp and connection seem fine, so I'm inclined to think it has something to do with the new patch (as it wasn't happening yesterday).

So balance and everything else aside, this patch has screwed over the best part of League: getting to play it with my friends. Please help.
