A Critical Error has occurred

So I was queued up for nexus blitz, we all had selected our champions and when the game is ready to start and change to the game client, it doesnt even make it to the loading screen and gives this error. It has asked me to create a Crash Dump of my RAM (which I did), but I have no idea how this happens.

UPDATE: At this point, trying to queue for a new match results in "We can't queue you right now because the patcher service is unavailable"

There have been many reports of this type of issue occurring. Sometimes you're able to successfully reconnect, sometimes not. As for not being able to join, the server would need to resynchronize your account before you can queue up to any map/mode and this can take up to 24 hours.
