[CRASH] Client crashes computer immediately after login

After getting past the login screen, the main client window contains a bunch of empty black boxes. Seconds later, the client freezes and shortly after that the entire computer freezes and becomes unresponsive requiring a hard shutdown. Tried four times in a row with same result. Usual fixes (Messing with compatibility issues, running as admin) were not successful on subsequent attempts to login.

OS: Windows 8.1 Processor: Intel i7-4710HQ CPU @ 2050 GHz RAM: 8.00 GB GFX: Nvidia GeForce GTX 860M

Same problem, exactly the same.

Posting again in this thread. Have been unable to play for a week now. Have spent a colossal amount of money on this game and now I can't even boot it up for fear of damaging my computer.
