Orange Essence Disappeared? [CLIENT]

So I just lost about 600 orange essence on what I'm fairly certain was a client glitch. I've tried to recreate it to no avail, but I clicked on Academy Darius, hit "Upgrade To Permanent" by accident. I clicked the icon a few more times trying to go to "Disenchant" instead, but it wouldn't let me hit that option while he was in the upgrade interface. When I did click out and disenchant him, my orange essence balance became 233, where it had previously been around 630. I relogged, and the amount persisted.

I have literally never successfully reported a bug before, so I'm probably doing something wrong, but I feel like if this is possible, people should know about it.

To elaborate, I tried repeating the process with a different skin shard, doing all the same steps I could remember doing the first time, but the orange essence added correctly the second time.
