DirectX Failure into not being able to patch

Played a whole bunch of ranked games today with no trouble and then queued for another game, went through champ select and then couldn't play my game because of a "DirectX bug" This has been reported by many users and I went to multiple youtube videos to figure it out and nothing works. Now when I try to play it says that it can't patch and asks me to restart. Help? I just lost my team a game I think because I can't get into a game because of these bugs.
