Game Failed to Load

I'm returning to the boards after years of inactivity to gripe/complain. It's 11:30 pm and I'm sleepy but now I am also steamed.

I was in my promos trying to climb back to Silver (currently Bronze 2). I had been granted the free win and everything. However, once the game went to the loading screen things went downhill. It had taken about six minutes of loading (at 100% for that duration) before I realized there was probably some error. Usually what I do is exit the game, restart the client, and return to the game; it's a disadvantage but still a chance to progress.

The game didn't exit. Task Manager, clicking the X on the task-bar, nothing seemed to do the trick. I had to manually restart my computer by holding down the power button. I was frustrated because I needed the win but I also hate having to do this to my computer. When it rebooted after about a minute between, I opened the client to find the game was over and I failed my promos. As you can imagine I'm upset because I'm moving back down the ladder due to a situation outside of my control.

Has this happened to anyone before?
