Game freezes when locking in in champion select

Until today, I have been running leauge smoothly on my one month old computer I bought. But today, when I tried locking in my champion in champion select, the game froze a millersecond after I locked in, showing the 'lock in' button was pressed but nothing happened. The client froze and so did the computer, forcing me to immediately do a hard restart. After I restarted my computer and logged into leauge, the game was in progress (8 minutes in), even though I turned off the computer the second the game froze and champion select should have been cancelled. After that game, the same exact scenario happened, only with champion select getting canceled. Please check in to how this happened, I don't want to have anyone else have this issue and potentially get banned for no reason :).

Edit: Just got into a game and locking in was fine, but I still think this issue should be investigated.
