Beta Client Feezed during champion select.

I just had a game that caused be to close my client and dodge a match during champ select. It initially stated that I had lost internet connection to my game, and that it has timed out (I was still playing music from YouTube in the background so there is no way it could have been my internet). It froze on one of the other teams picks which had the timer sitting @ 0 seconds. The message window stating that my client timed out closed and sat there frozen, forcing me to close my client.

Kinda annoying seeing how I lost LP and now have to wait a 5 min penalty for something the client caused. Shouldn't these kind of things been fixed in the Alpha?
