Linux on Patch 9.10
I already put in a support ticket and am waiting to hear back on this (will post an update in the forum when I hear back from them) but I want to see how many other people are experiencing this issue or have already found a fix.
Ever since the most recent patch (9.10) I have been able to log in and open the client but as soon as it leaves champ select to load the game the game closes with the error: "A critical error has occurred and the game has closed". Everything seems to be indicating a situation identical to patch 8.13 where the anti-cheat system was booting players out for using WINE version Win 7. When I reverted back to using Win XP the game was working consistently well ever since patch 8.14 with only minor glitches (such as the usual bug-splats and some frame stuttering). But I have heard that XP support has been dropped recently and since Patch 9.10 downloaded I have been unable to play. I have found scattered forums on this topic but most of them are from the patch 8.13 incident. Now that Win XP is no longer supported and no other Windows versions can go through the anti-cheat system, how do we get it working? Is it something that needs to be fixed on Riot's side or WINE's side? How many other people are experiencing this issue?
I have sunk over 300 days of time into this game and would hate to be locked out just because i can't afford a window's license and refuse to pirate software for personal reasons.
Thanks for your thoughts.
[EDIT] for people who dont want to read through the entire thread, a fix HAS BEEN FOUND!!!! https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=47198#c15 I personally dont know how to compile this so any helpful info on how to do that would be appreciated. However, if you can get it to work, they are reporting a 100% success rate. there is a typo in the code that needs to be fixed but other than that is a working patch
someone has found a solution? i have the same problem.
