Star Guardian Lux AA bug

I've been playing with the Star Guardian Lux skin lately and I've noticed that if I cancel my auto-attack too early it won't do damage, shocker. However it is sending a projectile and blowing up on the target, even playing the sound. Not a major issue, just really annoying.
