[CLIENT] Game crashes to desktop: fails to reinstall/update (Using Mac)

A few nights ago my mate and I were about to initiate a team-builder que when the client crashed to the desktop. When I tried to restart it (via the toolbar and applications folder) it failed to initialize {I also tracked these movements while watching the 'Activity Monitor' to see if league was opening and it showed no increased activity}.

I figured I should re-install LoL and deleted the game from my Mac to download a new installer. Now the game will refuse to install fully or update. The client starts by counting thousands of files (upwards of 20,000) while being stuck at 33% [a glitch many in the community know too well], BUT whereas normally the update would eventually start working again --- now when it moves on from 33% (after the LOOONG wait) it either responds with 'an update error has occured/the update failed/please check logs ect' or simply crashes to the desktop as before and appears as if league was never opened at all.

I'm not a cpu guru but I can try to provide info (specs, pics, ect) as is requested. Any help would be appreciated!! :D
