Every 3 or so matches I hear a windows sound and LoL freezes. It never occurs at any other time other than the very beginning of the game. When the game freezes I can't alt-tab out of the game and have to log out to get back in.
Is anyone else having this problem and are there any potential fixes for this?
From what I heard, "the windows crash" is a common occurrence since the halloween patch. I've lost a few games now because of it, either from just outright not having enough resources to win once I've reconnected or because the Leaverbuster system took it as AFK/no LP for me. It's quite discouraging and yeah, just gave up on 1/3 of my goals for this season because of it.
Anyways, no, there is no known fix at this time. I do however have a remedy you can try in the meantime while Riot attempts to fix it. Open up task manager and under the options tab, click "Always on top" to on. This will make it so that when the crash does occur, you'll be able to access task manager and close the game process instead of having to restart your computer.
