Why does the Login client keep asking for my UN and PW, when I always input "stay signed in"

Unless "stay signed in" doesn't mean it will remained signed in until the next time that I start up the client. I'm not looking to input both my UN and PW every time. I thought the new client was supposed to make all of this easier?
