Lost series due to inactivity?!?!

I just lost a ranked game (first game of series) and then que'd up and got into champ select. Someone left and before it que'd me again it said something along the lines of "You have lost your series due to inactivity." What the fuck riot? Seriously? This game has been going downhill. It's infuriating because now it brought me to 0 lp. One loss will demote me. All when i was in the series to be PROMOTED.
