Can't Log In (with error)/Stuck on Authentication/Missing XP

Go ahead and comment below if you're having the same or similar issues; please be as detailed as possible so that Riot Support can have as much info as possible to help solve the issue(s).

• No XP on last game's completion -- my team and the enemy team as well
• Started another game, game would not start; received error message "We were unable to start your game."
• Restarted client; unable to log in - "unexpected error occurred" message
• Started task manager -- had to kill two versions of the league client that were running
• Restarted client; unable to log in - got an "in-queue" message with me as the only person in queue before "unexpected error" message
• Restarted computer
• Restarted client; unable to login - "unexpected error" message

Obviously my internet is fine. I'm able to load other online games and clients as well -- League is the only client I'm having issues with.

*Edit: apparently there are people stuck on authentication; I am at least able to receive an error message.
