My Sivir spell shield was not blocking abilities !!!

just played a game as Sivir and my E let thru a gp Q which killed me ......it is suppost to block ability.... "Creates a magical barrier which blocks a single enemy ability used on Sivir. "

all he had was static shiv and i had 4-5 bars of hp left ....
