5.10 Quickcast bug: sometimes does normal cast unexpectedly

I have had everything on quickcast for years now, so this bug was immediately obvious when it started happening in 5.10.

It happens several times per game, on skillshot champions, for example Nautilus Q (the hook).

  • Expectation: I press Q in a certain direction and it goes immediately.
  • Reality: I press Q but I only get an indicator, and now I struggle because I don't know what to do. I mash Q more and it won't go, because it expects a mouse-click like non-quick cast.

The effects of this are pretty severe for me because I basically don't know how to play without quickcast since I haven't had to click my mouse for an ability for years. Unfortunately I don't have an exact duplication scenario yet. It's definitely only intermittent, but I'll work on trying to come up with a sure-fire way of triggering it.

EDIT: for clarification, this was on "quick cast with indicators". I'm testing now without indicators, but I suspect this may work around it.

Same problem here since the new patch. Can be reproduced with every spell with range indicator, by pressing the corresponding button at least 4 times in a row very fast.

When I play, to me what it looks like is that the indicator stays on the screen after the skill has been shot and needs to be cancelled with a right click. So I use my ability, Q on Graves let's say, and the ability shoots out, and then the cast indicator stays stuck to my mouse. This continues until I either cast something else, say my E or dash, and then that range indicator is stuck on screen. Only right clicking cancels this range indicator.

Honestly riot, range indicators were fine and since all these changes I have tried playing on normal smartcast and it is impossible for me. Please just fix this because I can't play when my range indicators are messed up.
