Nvidia Issues and DirectX

I updated my drivers to the newest version of Nvidia (397.93) and when I try to load into a game, it disconnects me and pops up a message telling me that I have a problem with the DirectX and that I don't have drivers installed. I installed some old versions of the drivers in the past and it worked, but it started to give some problems with the performance of other videogames since I didn't have the newest version.
