Hello everyone! I have submitted a bug report through the client, but I would like to post in the boards as well since it is frequented.

I have been experiencing a rather frustrating bug that I've seen a few players post about on the forums as well. My goal for this thread is to make it visible for players to see, and for players also experiencing this bug to post details about what is happening to them.

This is what I submitted in my bug report: > ​-Relogging usually fixes the bug (About 75-90% of the time). This is temporary. > -The button greys out after a few minutes of being logged in. > -The button greys out immediately after a match. > -"Replay" button after a match is still available 100% of the time. > -Sometimes the button does not become available after a relog. Repairing the client helps but does not solve the issue. > -My network connection is solid. I can play games when the button is available, and do not get disconnected or experience lag. > -If the button is properly working, nothing else is affected. Lobby & champ select works normally. > -There is no set time period when this happens. It has been happening since 1/28/17 whenever the client is open. > -I am still able to use all other parts of the client normally.

I strongly, strongly encourage all of you experiencing this bug to report it as well. The more reports come in, the more information Riot has to go off of in order to resolve the issue. You can submit a bug report through your client through a button at the bottom of your friends list. When you submit your bug report, try to include as much info as possible, even things that may not seem relevant. Try to answer questions like, "What time(s) does this occur?" and "Does this affect me anywhere else in the client?", as well as any fixes you have found.

Just tell me how to fix it!

Relogging usually works. If the button is still greyed out after a few relog attempts, you can repair the client through the settings menu, and it should work again.

I'm also having the same problem but for me it has been going for a very long time around 2 months,

i found another guy that seems to have the same problem and one of the comments under had the solution that you can do the following:

  • Go to the Control Panel and put it on Small Icons Display
  • Find Internet Options and then go to Advanced
  • Click on Reset and then reset the settings of Internet Explorer

however the above worked fine with me, but not for long, only for a couple of minutes after that it grayed out again, i tried restarting the client and it worked, but my Profiles and other Tabs are still not working, again it goes gray all of the sudden,

i decided that i should reinstall my Client (again) hopefully it might fix it but now i have another issue which says (Unspecified Error),

i feel i lost hope of playing LoL again and i hope the above solution works for you guys

A quick update: it looks like, after purchasing something in the store, my play button greyed out as well. However, it would grey out and then reappear a few times as I was still browsing the store, before finally greying out without becoming clickable again. Solved with two relogs.

Another interesting thing to note is that when invited to a game while the button is greyed out, it says "waiting" and does not allow me to accept the invite. When the button is clickable and has color, and when I am invited to a game, I can accept or deny the invitation.

This seems to be occurring for a few Win 10 users that I know, not sure if it's occurring for any other OS. Also, after hearing the scenarios upon which this occurs, it seems like this is happening when there's any sort of limitation on the network connection to the client itself. That last bit may just be speculation, but hopefully it helps.

had to relog 4 times. swapping accounts on the 5th worked - could just the product of turning the client on and off though.

Yep, happens since the last update, but only when I'm playing on USB modem device which has much more stable and faster connection than my wifi. If I play on wifi this never happens, but LoL (AND ONLY LOL AS FKING ALWAYS) runs like ass, drops connection, and says I have 150ms ping when I clearly have 2-5s.

I have to keep relogging until it catches on. Usually it greys out and drops when waiting with client open and doing nothing. The new client has SERIOUS networking issues compared to the old one. Before, it crashed every time my wifi dropped after a moment of pretending to reconnect (but thankfully that was solved a while ago).

I've been having this problem since the new client arrived. It's been happening a lot more often over the last couple of weeks. Currently using the legacy client to avoid the issue.

Has anyone tried reinstalling their client? Its a big hassle but I'm going try it. I'm constantly experiencing not being able to play because the Play button keeps graying out out. It's extremely annoying to have to restart my client 10 times a day to play normally

EDIT I reinstalled the client. The next day I experienced the grey play button again
