Massive FPS drop on Normal HUD compared to New HUD

So I just bought a new laptop with a NVIDIA GTX 850M and its been great so far. I've tested out how much it can go to and have been pleased. I was in a custom game and then a normal game playing max settings meaning very high and get about 170+ FPS and I'm quite happy. The worst part is going to ranked. Though I'm bronze and it might not matter too much, I've noticed I barely average 30 FPS with the old HUD. I've made sure to close any programs, but it still is close to 30. Can anyone help me or rioter? I have about 12gb memory and have little to no programs running. I am running on Windows 8 and will be upgrading to Windows 10 Wednesday most likely.
